Summer LARP Campout

Every year Minnesota role-players get together for some live action role-playing and outdoor activities - volleyball, badminton, bocce, and burning food over an open flame. The brave set up tents and camp after the game, the rest take the short drive back to their home or a nearby hotel and return the next day. No previous knowledge or experience is needed, just a willingness to have fun.

When: 4:00 PM Friday, July 10th to 2:00 PM July 12th. The interactive games begin around 7 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Where: Blue Stem campsite, Crow-Hassan park in Hennepin County near Rogers, MN.

Cost: $7 per player per game.

Event Descriptions

Friday: Star Wars: The Hidden Fortress

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

A generation has passed since the war against the Mandalorians, a Jedi civil war, and subsequent Sith conflicts nearly destroyed the Republic. Many worlds suffered during these times, but Onderan saw some of the worst fighting.

Now a discovery of an ancient Sith temple on Onderan's moon Dxun has roused the interest of many of the Galaxy's most powerful players.

This game takes place in the Old Republic setting. Kid friendly characters available, if the kids are willing to read and scheme.

Players: 21

Saturday: The Dungeon of Doom

The monsters in the Dungeon of Doom are expecting trouble. The Valkyrie's Party is going for a Total Dungeon Kill. Everyone in the Dungeon needs to get their traps, minions, spells, and rooms together to stop them. How will you (as one of the main monsters in charge of the Dungeon) help to defeat the Valkyrie's Party? How will you make sure that you and everyone you care about survives the carnage? Come see what happens when a classic dungeon crawl gets mixed with a wacky apartment-building sitcom!

There are kid-friendly characters, but there are elements that might concern parents. These are largely evil monsters, after all.

Players: 24
